The Law of Perpetual Obsolesence

First off, I’ve been looking for the Creative Suite for a while now, or at least The Design Pack. Now, to purchase the full whack, CS4 Master Suite, as taken from the adobe.com website, looks as follows:

 So a tidy amount of money. almost three and a half grand. Seems steep for software in these P2P days. I thought so. So I went to e-bay, see what they could do for me:
Huge saving to be made, from 3 and a half thousand down to roughly €1,900. Pretty damn good, I thought. Then, long-story short, I decided I didn’t really NEED the physical CDs and cardboard box, as such. Looked into downloading it. First thoughts obviously turn to torrenting, and I found a decent tracker on PirateBay, but word on the street is CS4 is really secure and tuned in to that sort of thing.
Anyway, eventually, with thanks to a colleague, I found this site which lets me download this. For those of you too lazy to make the jump, here’s what it looks like:

That’s $300 folks!!! DOLLARS!!!! Which, as of 3 minutes to 2 pm today, is worth €223.276.

Just over 200 lids. for the ENTIRE Adobe Creative Suite 4 Master Collection!! And this guy at work, he downloaded it recently (for windows, fool) and it works perfectly, no problems or bugs or screens saying enter legitimate serial number here please.

So happy days, that’s what I was so happy about today. Until I go to adobe.com and see this message.

Doesn’t that hurt?? Happened when I bought my camera, too. Save all summer for the 40D, the week I go to buy it, the 50D comes out. Anyway. I’m not overly worked up. No major differences really anyway. And, being a Mac, they’ll probably only have it prepped to 32bit processing anyway, like CS4.
